About Us

Our Association

AFLC

Shiloh Church belongs to a larger group called the Association of Free Lutheran Congregations (aflc.org). The AFLC family consists of about 270 congregations within the United States, as well as congregations in Canada, Mexico, Brazil, India and Uganda. Our fellowship is rooted in the 16th century Reformation, and shaped by revivals that swept across Scandinavia, and into America.

Our structure is simple. Each congregation is autonomous, joyfully submitting to God’s Word and Spirit, yet joined together to multiply our efforts. We link arms and work together to operate a Bible College and Seminary, send and support missionaries around the world, equip our youth at regional and national conferences, and plant churches together, like Shiloh.

Characteristics of a Free Lutheran Congregation

  • Scriptures are the final authority
  • Christ crucified and risen for the forgiveness of sins is central
  • Simplicity in worship
  • Historically rooted
  • Freedom of the congregation
