Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What’s the craziest thing you believe?
A: Honestly, the craziest thing we believe is the Gospel. The fact that God actually loved us unworthy, rebellious sinners enough to take our punishment and death on the cross so that we might be forgiven and restored is pretty crazy. We will always proclaim this.
Q. What is your worship like?
A: We believe that what happens on Sunday as we gather isn’t so much about us doing something for God. Rather, it is about God- in his mercy- sharing his grace and forgiveness with us. Because of this, the service is designed to be centered around Jesus and His work for us. We hear and celebrate Christ through a mix of modern and historic music. We hear and celebrate Christ through His Word read and taught. We pause, reflect, and confess our own sin, and then hear Christ’s proclamation of forgiveness. This leads us to joyfully respond in confident confession about Christ.
Q. What do you mean by “Free?”
A: This is a very important word in describing our identity and distinctives. Please see Our Beliefs.
Q. What do you offer for children on Sunday morning?
A: Children are a special part of our congregation and we value them as full participants in the life of our church. We encourage families to worship together regardless of age. How beautiful it is for children to see their parents or grandparents worshiping God. This is powerful. It’s also sometimes messy. Don’t worry though. We are a family, so noise from kids really is no problem. There are children’s activity bags for your convenience.
Sunday School classes for children, including nursery, begin at 9 a.m.
During the Worship service, we call the kids forward and have a special message time for them. Child care is provided for those extra energetic children ages 0-5.
