We love God?s Word and believe that it is absolutely true and relevant for us to read, hear, and study. God uses His word to challenge and comfort us.? We believe all growth flows from living in God?s Word.
We unashamedly proclaim Jesus Christ as the Savior of the World. We are sinners in desperate need of God?s grace in Christ.? Through faith in Jesus, we are forgiven, united to him, and receive the promise of heaven.?
We believe that it is important to tie into and learn from God?s people throughout history. We value the ancient practices of the Church, and seek to incorporate them in our worship and life in an engaging way.
We believe that we aren?t to keep the good news of Jesus to ourselves.? Jesus calls us to go into the world, proclaiming the Gospel. Our desire is to equip Christ-followers to be effective and faithful servants in their daily lives. ?
We Confess the historic christian faith:
The Church, since its infancy, has sought to articulate and formulate the core teachings of God?s Word.? These brief formulations are called creeds or confessions. The three historic creeds are the Apostles Creed, Nicene Creed, and Athanasian Creed. These creeds summarize what faithful Christians have always confessed when gathered around God?s true word in the name of Jesus Christ. Shiloh gladly accepts and proclaims the contents of these historic confessions.?The most well-known and foundational Creed is The Apostles Creed (below).
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.?
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty. From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead.?
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
